Learn the Basics of the XP Operating System

1. Alternate your background for some variety.

2. To change the background of your computer you must go to the main screen and right click, then scroll down to properties.

3. Click on the Desktop tab, you will see a list of backgrounds and pictures you have to choose from. Once you have discovered the background and way the background is to be displayed i.e. size of picture, click apply and you have a new background.

4. Learn how to change the time. Next is changing the time, on the bottom right hand corner of your task bar you will see the time.

5. To change this time double-click on the current time and a new window will open. Set the time, date, year, and time zone to the way you wish and hit apply.

6. Create some shortcuts. Then there is creating shortcuts on your desktop. To create a shortcut simply hit the start menu scroll over to the application you which to create a shortcut to and right click, once you right click yet another scroll down box will appear on this box you will see the option to create a shortcut, left click on this option and there you go.



7. To delete a shortcut off your desktop, simply right click the shortcut and left click the option delete a shortcut. This will bring the shortcut into the recycle bin.
