1. Position your mouse in a spot where there are no icons on the desktop, than click the right mouse button. A menu should come up (see image 1) Click the 'Properties'(Should be near the bottom) button. .
2. Open the menu and click Windows Classic(If you are using Windows 98, that is Windows classic). Than click on the tab that says Desktop. The window should change to look like this:
3. Click the menu that says Background and select your favorite. (If you don't like any of them, go to Create a Suitable Screen Background)If you would like, click the button marked 'Customize Desktop'. Then select and change each icon. Click 'OK'
4. Then, click on Screensaver.
5. Again open the menu and pick out your favorite.
6. Click the button marked 'Appearance' (Note: this is a harder step.) Click 'Advanced'
7. he menu contains a bunch of different things. some are colors, some are sizes and fonts. Pick the ones you like.
8. Click 'Apply'. if you like how it looks, click 'OK'. If you don't, keep using steps 2 through 8.
