Obtain System Level Privileges in Windows XP

1. Go Start -> Run and type in cmd.

2. type in 'at' without the quotes.

3. If it comes up access denied, bad luck. If it doesn't, good.

4. Type 'at (time in 24 hr format +1 minute) /interactive cmd.exe' without the quotes.

5. It should say something like 'task created with ID=0' or something like that.

6. Close cmd. As soon as the time gets to the time you set, another command prompt window should come up. Bring up task manager (ctrl+alt+del). Go to the processes tab and look for 'explorer.exe'. Click on it and say 'end process'.

7. Go back to the command prompt window and type 'explorer.exe' without the quotes.

8. After a minute or two, your computer should look similar to how it usually looks. But, if you bring up the start menu, it will say 'system' as the user name. You are now working under the system account and have unrestricted access to your own computer. As soon as you log off, this will be reset back to your normal account. Have fun!
